celebrated jasper's birthday at Wild Oats. been wanting to visit this place for a long time, but haven't gotten down to it. pretty satisfied with the food and ambience there! was kinda skeptical at first, cause of the mixed reviews online. like over-costly, slow serve (45min for the food?!), not nice food, etc. but still, we went ahead and gave it a try and never regretted. even the folks liked that place/ the food!


it's located within punggol park, and is not air conditioned. despite that, it wasn't warm at all! we got a seat beside the lake and in fact it was pretty breezy. not sure whether it's because of the fans or the weather that night though.

one morning, i woke up as usual and checked my twitter timeline, reading it as i went about my morning and i realise there's something trending. okay not really trending, but there were so many retweets about someone needing blood transfusiong or something.
 it read something like:

"urgently in need of blood at the Singapore Blood Bank. please head to HSA and state that you're donating blood for Tan Boon Chong, NRIC SxxxxxxxxX "

it was retweeted so many times i couldn't ignore it. it has to be something urgent right? so i went to google about this Tan guy and i got this:





omg do y'all recognise him? well, i do. i didn't know his name though, but i knew he was a channel 8 actor. although not an A-lister, but i remember i've seen him on tv when i was young. so i did more "research" and found this:







THIS MUST BE URGENT. i mean... if it wasn't urgent, mediacorp wouldn't have emailed its staff and ask them to donate blood and risk them trying to "chao geng" using that excuse right? so me being me, did further "research" and found out that this guy has leukemia. BLOOD CANCER. *revelation*

i was pretty shocked to learn that, although it wasn't like i knew him in any way lah. so i decided to be super brave and kind and heroic, i went to the blood bank and wanted to donate blood (since i'm also due to donate blood on the 20th lah. so i was kinda "late" hahaha).

having done all the tests and queuing up, i went home disappointedly (-.-) cause i had too little iron in my blood. like my reading was 12.1 when the acceptable range was >12.5. so my blood was refused and i had to go home :( sigh, having donated 5 times this is really the first when i can't donate :"(

so people, go on and donate blood/ platelets if you're >45kg and healthy and all! help save lives!

blogged about the picnic i had with my family! it wasn't too fail considering that we had lotsa food + ground sheet to sit on + nice weather. but it was so boring cause there wasn't anything for us to do except to eat -.- anyhow, it was a good attempt!
